Moving from London to Herefordshire and leaving her policing career behind was the catalyst that was needed to bring her Indian cooking passion back to life. After starting her cookery school, she knew that there was a real hunger around for experiencing real authentic Indian food. After all, it is the nation's favourite dish!
Walking through a local supermarket in Hereford and looking around the shelves, wanting something quick, tasty and healthy for the family, she couldn't find anything that she liked (she had tried several chilled, ambient, jarred sauces, but nothing really tasted as fresh as she expected). In that moment, she thought to herself, "One day, I'll create a product that people can use to cook amazing curries at home, and it will be available here!"
Here she is, a few years later, doing just that, to get her frozen curry cooking sauces out there, while providing classes to teach others how to cook incredible Indian dishes.
Her flavours are inspired by the Southern Indian cooking of Hyderabad, a region known for its rich food and where Rayeesa lived as a toddler.
Rayeesa's Indian Kitchen is Herefordshire's first and only authentic Indian Cookery School, set in the peaceful and tranquil setting of a 15th Century farmhouse kitchen.
